Early this month I watched a video where this guy proposed a 30-day fitness challenge (I included the link below). It was about creating new healthier habits. The 5 steps of the challenge are:
Eat healthier 6 days out of the week and one cheat day.
Workout 45min 5 days out of the week.
Drink 2.5 liters of water
Read 15 pages
Take a cold shower
I’ve started and stopped doing this challenge twice so far, and that’s the story of my life. Starting things and not seeing them through. That’s something I want to work on and I feel like completing this challenge is the first step in seeing challenges through. In my first two attempts, I failed at reading 15 pages, it was just something I brushed under the rug. I felt as though if I did the other 4 I was fine, but it wasn’t I was doing myself a disservice. So I’ve decided to do a blog post on it to keep myself accountable!!! Every day I will be posting a daily update to keep track of progress and share how it's been going!

Day 1: 4/26/21
Today was Day 1 all over again! I drank my 2.5 liters of water, worked out, and took a cold shower. My family and I had a small birthday dinner for my mom, so I didn’t eat the most healthy dinner, but I ate okay the rest of the day. So I completed 3/5 steps today. My goal for tomorrow is to eat healthier.
Day 2: 4/27/21
Today was my best day ever!!!! I finished all 5 fitness challenges! My goal going into today was to read, I always had excuses not to read and today I finally did it. After work, I sat down in my living room, with the sun gleaming through the windows. I melted into my couch and opened One Day in December by Josie Silver and I was transported into London. After reading it gave me the energy I needed to finish all the other steps!
Day 3: 4/28/21
Today I only completed one fitness challenge, I read 15 pages of my book and that was it. It was a busy day for me, I was out and about, and didn’t have time to do everything. Not having time has always been my biggest excuse. I have time to sit on my couch scrolling through my phone, I have time to watch 5 hours of The Challenge (my favorite game/reality show of all time), I have time to online shop, yet for some reason, I never have time to do things I need to do or internally want to do. Tomorrow I know I’ll do better and be better.
Day 4: 4/29
Today I redeemed myself from yesterday, I completed all 5/5 fitness challenges which felt good. What changed my results from 1/5 to 5/5 was I woke up an hour before work and read a chapter of How to be a Badass. It was amazing I kept that chapter in the back of my head the whole day and it gave me the mindset I needed to finish all my challenges.
Day 5: 4/30
I began today the same as yesterday, getting up early and reading a chapter of How to be a Badass. I’ve started looking forward to this each day, and it gives me the energy I need to be a better person. My workout was good, I’ve started walking most days I just haven’t had the energy to run. I’ve also started reading 15 pages of the book One Day in December after work in my living room with the light shining through. It’s a great treat at the end of the workday! I will admit that I didn’t drink all my water I was 12 oz short of the 2.5 liters. So I’ll say today I finished 4.5/5.
Day 6: 5/1
I didn’t have the best day today, but I completed 4/5 of my challenges. This showed me that these challenges are becoming habits and I’m completing them without realizing it. The main reason I’m doing this 30-day challenge is to stop making these challenges. 6 days in I’m doing what I set out to do!
Day 7: 5/2
Today I completed 3/4 challenges! Today was my cheat day and boy did I enjoy it! I had an amazing Gobi (Cauliflower) alfredo pasta dish for lunch, then we made pizza for dinner. It was everything I needed, I also noticed I didn't stuff myself full. Which is a huge victory for me, because when I eat I stuff myself like a thanksgiving turkey. Yea your mama's turkey got nothing on me. This is also the second day in a row I didn't take a cold shower, so my goal for the next week is to take a cold shower every single day.
Day 8: 5/3
Usually, I keep my journal with me all day crossing off each fitness challenge as I complete it. Today I didn't do that I was mad at myself for not keeping myself accountable. When I sat down at the end of the day I reflected on what I did; I did a workout for 45min, I took a cold shower, I read more than 15 pages, and I ate healthily. All without thinking about it this challenge is working for me, and it's an amazing feeling! I ended the day completing 4/5 challenges I couldn't figure out how much water I drank lmao!
Day 9: 5/4
4/5
Day 10: 5/5
4/5
Day 11: 5/6
4/5
Day 12: 5/7
4/5
Day 13: 5/8
4/5
Day 14: 5/9
4/5
Day 15: 5/10
4/5
So the past few 3 days I haven't been tracking my challenges. I started this challenge in order to make better habits and I have. The challenges I presented myself are no longer challenges their just things I do every day without having to remind myself.
