Okay so how is it already May… I feel like the last 4 months didn’t happen. Legit I can’t remember anything I did… okay that sounds so sad. I had 5 goals last month: stop procrastinating, talk to old connections, read a book, take care of mental health, and do something that scares me. To my surprise, I accomplished all my goals!
Stopping my procrastination habits was my biggest challenge. I started writing everything down I wanted to do in a day then crossing them out as I accomplished them. Not going to lie the first week, I only crossed off 2-3 things each day by the end of the week I was still doing stuff from Monday. When I was reflecting on the week I felt sad, like wow I’m accomplishing nothing each day. I’m letting my tiredness after work get to me, and I’m allowing it to take away from my life. Legit my life became wake up, work, eat, sleep, repeat. I took a hard look myself and I came up with a work-life balance something I’m so glad I learned about in college. The biggest thing that helped was leaving my room the second work was over. I would take my book, laptop, charger, phone, and spend the rest of my day in the rest of my house. I started working out every day on my Nordic Track (yes I’m flexing I’m very proud of it). Not only that I started finishing items on my to-do list since I wasn’t sleeping all day in my room. I also started cooking again, have I made anything mind-blowing no, am I enjoying myself YES!
Halfway through the month I also started a new fitness challenge, which I wrote a whole blog post about! There are 5 challenges I complete each day, and one of them is to read 15 pages of a book! I’ve begun reading How to be a Badass every morning before work to get my mindset right! Then I read One Day in December on my couch with my coffee, wrapped in my favorite blanket after work. Having these small moments has greatly approved my mental health, also muting social media, and living in my present. Living in my present has made me miss some of my past ironically, I’ve reached out to old friends and we’ve been communicating more. Finally, I’ve done something that’s been terrifying to me to my core I applied to an apartment with my friends is not going to lie this apartment has been causing me some anxiety, but I’m getting through it. So we’ll see how that whole situation ends up.
I’m about to destroy May and these are my goals:
Start gaming.
Finish all my Digital Marketing Certifications.
Stop dreaming about the person I want to be and live my life as the person I am!
