This past year my mental health has been on a roller coaster ride. This past month my mental health has been doing very well. I think it has to do with the fact I’m prioritizing my health, fitness, and myself ahead of other things. I’ve also finally gotten more organized so I know what I’m doing each day rather than procrastinating my life away. I also believe just overall happiness and growth in life contributing to my mental health improvement. From my past posts, you all know that I read a chapter of a self-help book each day it allows me to get my mindset right for the day. I’ve also begun saying positive affirmations to myself. Below I’ve listed a few I say to myself depending on what I need to accomplish that day.
The power is yours. (I say this in Captain Planets voice iykyk)
Be the best you can be and find your destiny. It's the master plan the powers in your hand (Yes this is from the Pokémon Battle Frontier theme)
Today, I abandon my old habits and take up new, more positive ones.
I have worth and I will not accept anything less than it.
My future is great. My potential to succeed is infinite, I can conquer whatever is put in front of me.
Just like Jaspreet 2020 and part of 2021 was a roller coaster ride for my mental health. I talked about this little bit in my therapy blog post and my weight loss. So many factors contributed to my decline in mental health. Some being, my job, relationships, and mostly how I viewed myself. 2020 was the year I worked on myself, unplugged from social media when I could and didn't really talk to many people including some family members and most of my friends. Yes, getting the support you need in the time you're low you should ask for but in all honesty I needed to just focus on myself and my self-worth. From all the therapy and weight loss I realized I was not good to myself at all through it started to love myself. These are the positive affirmations I tell myself every day.
You are worth it and if people don't think you don't deserve you in their life.
Your body is your temple. Your body is sexy, confident, and worthy of the positive attention it gets.
You and your existence on this earth are important.
You can accomplish anything and everything you set your mind to.
Be the best you can be for yourself and yourself only.
Don't be sorry about everything you do because you were conditioned to please others. Their opinion doesn't matter and serving them isn't your job.
I am grateful for the body I was given and I love every lump, curve, crease, and scar it carries because it is mine and what's mine is beautiful and does not need to follow unrealistic beauty standards.
