I started doing skin care when I was an undergrad in college. After not having acne when in my teenage years I got it as an adults and it was not just any type of acne it was cystic bacterial acne. I tried everything to get rid of it. Used proactive and that did not really work because as I kept using it it made my acne worse. I tried naturals such as using aloe vera for my toner and moisturizer, tea tree oil to dry out my acne, rosehip oil for a night moisturizer but also to tame the oil that was overly producing in my t-zone. Which by the way help me balance the oils in my face which is no longer a problem. I tried Murad products which is still like but have not used for a while now. Mario Badescu product which is still love and it help calm my acne down BUT I then resorted to going to the doctor and there my PCP prescribed me a topical treatment of anti-biotics to get rid of the bacterial acne I was getting on my chin and my cheeks. This was the best for me. It got rid of my cystic acne and gave me the solution I needed. I used it for a few months in conjunction with sunscreen. I obviously could not use it for a long period of time because it was an antibiotic. Little did I know I should have just gone to the doctor to get my skin looked at instead of suffering with cystic acne prone skin for a few years of my young adult life.
Some of the products I recommend are the clinique take the day off balm, the acne stress control cleanser, the hydro boost eye gel-cream and the moisturizer, and the glycolic acid toner by the ordinary.

I started caring about my skin health recently at the beginning of 2020. Growing up I had good skin I would get a gross pimple every few months but other than that my skin was clear. In college is when my skin started negatively changing it started becoming a little bumpy, and I got a few more pimples here and there. I mostly blame my diet and alcohol for that lmao. The main reason I decided to take care of my skin is that I don’t like wearing foundation. Okay actually I suck at applying foundation BB Cream forever, but I want to have clear skin that I can just rock. I’ve had my fair share of skincare trials and tribulations this year. I've used multiple cleansers, toners, and exfoliators some worked some destroyed my skin. I’m currently recovering from a cleaner that didn’t work with my skin. The cleanser caused my cheeks, and eyes to turn a bright red, then my skin dried out so much it started peeling non-stop. So after this experience, I was terrified to put anything on my skin, but I knew I needed something. I started watching Skincare by Hyram every day and found The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser. It had very few ingredients, and I was willing to give it a chance. I’m happy to report that my skin has been recovering well, the peeling stopped, the only redness is around my eye now, and it looks fine. I’m slowly achieving my skincare dreams!!!!
If I had to recommend one product I would recommend lip oils! As an Indian, I know the power of oils, and I can’t believe it took me this long to find lip oil. Lip oil hydrates your lips and once it's absorbed you don't feel crusty unlike chapstick and lip balms are drying. Once I finish my Fenty lip balm I’m exclusively using lip oils.
